Who are you?
I'm you, but more powerful.
At least they used the best LandCruiser as a benchmark, though!
Almost a fifth of Scotland's land is used for grouse shooting (that we know of). Revive is a campaign to reform Scotland's grouse moors.

As in the title, almost a fifth of our country is used purely to shoot grouse. Not to hunt grouse or farm grouse, just to stand still on open ground and shoot them for fun. Hundreds of thousands are shot every year and despite this I'm willing to bet that almost no one who visits this subreddit has ever eaten grouse, as the corpses are mostly just left to rot.
No one actually knows exactly how much land is used for grouse shooting (or other aristocratic hobbies) due to the opaque nature of land ownership. It's probably more than we think. What we do know is that huge areas of Scotland are artificially maintained wasteland, kept in a condition that is suitable only for grouse and nothing else.
There are so many problems caused by grouse moors and I strongly encourage you to click on the link to revive.scot and read about them. Please also sign their petition and talk about this to people you know who might be interested. Just to be clear, I'm not a member or a contributor or anything like that, just someone who's interested in land reform.
According to Revive, only 3000 jobs are created by grouse shooting, with an average wage of £11500 (well below a full-time minimum wage). This is ridiculous when you look at how much of the country is dedicated to this. Scotland's land could be used for so much more and could really be put to use to actually benefit the people, instead of being shut off for the benefit of the wealthy.
Various MSPs are already interested in this, mainly the Greens (particularly Andy Wightman MSP, I strongly recommend looking into his work) and some of the SNP, although Labour have also voiced some support as well. Lets make sure our politicians know that we want our land reformed.
EDIT:
I'd suggest reading this (only 9 pages so not too long):
https://commonweal.scot/policy-library/back-life-visions-alternative-futures-scotlands-grouse-moors
Commonweal is one of the organisations backing Revive and this is a link to report that was commissioned by Revive to look into alternative uses for the grouse moors.
They do a much better job of explaining it than I will but to summarise:
ForestryRenewable Energy
Agriculture (preferably not sheep!)
Horticulture
Tourism
Housing

"the poor had no lawyers" is a great book explaining what happened to scotlands land - a country owned by fewer hands than any other in the western world.
Publicly owned land should be used for affordable housing, not sold to private developers

Of all the places to build affordable housing, next to transit lines is probably the best.
What do you think about my city? I used the land of the isles map.

Has anyone used the Land Squirts Ashes?

Are they just as useless as they appear?
Top Comment: Land squirts ashes made me think of something that happens when Rick Sanchez fucks a planet. I know this adds nothing, just made me laugh
Need insights on buying a used Land Cruiser
Main Post:
Hello, I need some advice for buying a used Toyota Land Cruiser model from year 2000 - 2007 which ran upto 300,000 - 350,000kms.
- What does the annual maintenance cost look like for a vehicle that old?
- Would it be still reliable even though it's over 200,000kms since it's a Toyota?
- Are the parts still available?

i’ve had my ‘06 land cruiser since 2012 which my dad initially bought from the dealership as brand new. It’s a daily driver and it currently has KM 320K on it. I’ve done 2 engine overhauls and 2 transmission overhauls for around KD 400-600 each. Spare parts are cheap and can be bought from literally everywhere. Annual maintenance is also cheap for probably KD 15-20 for an oil change with filter. Brake pads are nothing. Other stuff won’t cost much. Great car to drive as a daily.
You're looking for a used Land Cruiser, in a perfect scenario, what do you see on the last owner's service records?

Why is the A321EOW used over land so often?
Main Post:
I’ve been on probably 30 flights between LAX and DFW in the last four months. For some reason, I’ve noticed that increasingly we fly an A321EOW (extended over water).
I’m curious if anyone has ideas why AA network planning would stack that specific variant on this route so often? Surprising they don’t have needs to take it down to the Caribbean or something. Feels like a waste to lug the weight of extra rafts and vests for this domestic jaunt.
Example, AA1754 today. The plane did a few laps back and forth DFW LAX all day, no need for EOW it seems.
Top Comment: EOW is different than ETOPS. EOW Just means it has the legal FAA requirements to travel beyond the 162nm limit imposed but the FAA. 162-400nm is considered EOW. All the 737 are EOW certified at AA. The older airbuses were not, so as they phase those out it’s just easier to have all A321s as EOW. Having all narrowbody aircraft EOW, prevents mistakes and scheduling disruptions. Plane to Cancun breaks..now they have to go looking for an EOW, instead of being able to pull any 321 it needs. Only etops narrowbody is the the A321NEO. The weight hit is negligible. The 321 is certified for like 220 something passengers plus cargo. So there’s quiet a bit of room with the capacity aa runs for the equipment.
